Kyleakin Community Hall was opened in 2002 following five years of fundraising. Grants were gratefully received from the Scottish Executive, Highland Council, Rank Foundation, Hugh Fraser Foundation, Lloyds TSB, Gannochy Trust, National Lotteries Charity Board, Skye & Lochalsh Enterprise, Bernard Sunley Foundation and over £50,000 was raised from local events like Kyleakin Gala, attended by so many people from surrounding communities.

The hall was extended in 2009 to accommodate sports changing facilities following another successful fundraising drive.  Grants and donations were received from SportsScotland, HIE Skye & Wester Ross, Highland Council, The Robertson Trust, Lloyds TSB, Hugh Fraser Foundation and CERS Forward Scotland.

The hall remains an asset to those who live locally and groups from all over.  It is managed by a team of volunteers, many of whom were involved in the initial committee established in 1997.

Registered Charity in Scotland SC026949.
